Spring/Summer Highlights

 

GMS had a wonderful end to the 2025-2026 school year! May started off strong with GMS’ Annual Dinner and Dance. Students, families and staff enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Chef Scott of Benny’s Bistro and boogied with dance coach Robin Guy.

Students not only learn inside the classroom here at GMS, but with hands on experience in the community.

Casa students learned about one of Canada’s most iconic animals, the beaver, on their field trip to the Museum of Nature.

In May, Junior Elementary students were treated to an Indigenous production, “Th’owxiya: The Hungry Feast Dish” at the National Arts Centre. Which taught them that when you take something from the Earth, you need to give something back. In June, our Junior Elementary students experienced what life would have been like during the Pioneer Days, with a trip to The Cumberland Museum.

Senior Elementary students were treated to a hilarious French satirical dance-theatre performance at the National Arts Centre. “Va falloir toujours toujours”. After the performance students went on an adventure to the picturesque Kiweki Point. In June, Senior Elementary students had fun in the sun at Mont Cascade during their end of year trip.

At the end of May, the GMS Vernissage and Academic Fair was an opportunity for students to show their parents and other family members their art work and special projects. Senior Elementary Students were given an exclusive tour of the historic Glebe St. James Church by a resident historian. The GMS Elementary Afterschool Theatre Troupe performed an adaptation of Lewis Caroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”,“The Mad Tea Party”, to the GMS and Glebe St. James Community.

GMS students, families and staff enjoyed the annual end of year BBQ, effectively concluding another terrific year. We hope that everyone has a relaxing and exciting summer! See you in September.
