Glebe Montessori School opened its doors in September 1995, in response to community enthusiasm to establish a Montessori school in The Glebe. The school found an ideal location within Glebe Saint James United Church, with its spacious grounds and outstanding facilities.

Demand was so great for Montessori education that GMS rapidly expanded to three preschool classes (ages 3 to 6) and a junior and senior elementary program (ages 6 to 12). GMS has become renowned for its high academic standards, low student-teacher ratios and its strong curriculum, balancing each child's physical, intellectual, emotional and creative needs.
