We are pleased to introduce Glebe Montessori School's wide selection of after-school programming for the 2007-2008 academic year, beginning in September. Students have the opportunity to create personalized after-school programs to meet their interests and expand their horizons. Experts on a variety of subjects instruct the individual classes. Several courses are conducted in both French and English. Classes are held after school and run from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m., with extended care available from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m.

Pick up service by GMS staff is available for students from Mutchmor, First Avenue and Corpus Christi schools.


Theatre Workshop ~

This lively workshop introduces students to the world of theatre, where they learn the art of improvisation, acting, movement and voice through various theatre games, poetry, mime and music.


Contemporary Dance ~

Contemporary and creative dance classes invigorate the body and refresh the mind. Don't worry if you've never danced before! A unique blend of Hip Hop, Street Jazz and Freestyle dance makes this course a great way to experience the integration of music and movement and release the imagination!


Magic Workshop* ~

Our students will transform into magicians, and captivate their audiences. Students can bring their magic materials home to delight parents, family members and friends with their newly acquired tricks!


Brain Gym and Yoga ~

These classes help children build self-esteem, increase their concentration, and develop strong, healthy bodies through various exercises that keep them active and focused.


Creative Cooking* ~

For the cooking novice or aficionado, our cooking classes, featuring Dessert Madness and The Science of Cooking, are sure to delight one's gastronomic senses! Students will cover the basics, gain culinary expertise for a lifetime and have a ball creating delicious masterpieces!


Chess ~

The game of kings! National Chess Champion and Chess Master Mick Voloaca upgrades children's chess skills through personal instruction and cooperative play.


Computer Graphics ~

Students develop skills in keyboarding, desktop publishing and computer graphics through this interactive computer course.


Cartooning* ~

Students will create animation characters and backgrounds, and produce their own cartoon stories in this entertaining workshop presented by qualified animator and illustrator, Gilles Rainville.


Tae Kwon Do ~

Our Master instructors train students in the ancient Korean art of self-defense, improving their strength, coordination, self-confidence, discipline and overall fitness.


Hockey / Soccer ~

Get involved and get active in Canada's most popular sports--soccer and hockey! In this workshop, children learn the rules of the games, increase their skill levels and, most important, enjoy the camaraderie of their teammates while playing.


Jewelry ~

Beaded crochet is a creative technique for making eye-catching jewelry. Beading, stranding, knotting and wire-working are utilized to create necklaces, bracelets, earrings and more!


Crafts ~

Textile fun, sewing, beading techniques and scrapbooking are just some of the activities of this multifaceted workshop. Your child will enjoy creating pom-pom toys, mixed-media appliqués, free-standing motifs, jewelry and photo momentos.


Knitting and Crochet ~

Students learn all about knitting and crocheting through easy-to-accomplish projects, such as scarves, hats, bags or clothing for toy bears and dolls. As students develop their talents, projects will become more advanced to suit their individual skill level. A knitting certificate will be presented to all students at the end of the workshop.


Clown Workshop* ~

This fun-filled workshop introduces children to the world of clowning, where they learn to capture an audience with their own clown persona and participate in activities such as face painting and balloon sculpting.
